About Me

I received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Art History from the University of California Los Angeles in 2013, but have always loved Math! I have worked as a private school or homeschool teacher for a total of six years and as a private Math tutor for five years. My students this year range from 2nd graders to 11th graders! I have a passion for using creative approaches to make education fun and memorable. My goal is to create learning experiences that help each child to understand the concepts being taught. There are so many ways to get to the correct answer in Math!

About My Classes

Next year I will be offering a Math class for 6th graders following the Saxon Math 7/6 Curriculum. In this class, we will work on cementing important math skills that students will need moving forward into Prealgebra and Algebra. Topics that will be covered include an introduction to functions and coordinate graphing, integers, exponential expressions, order of operations, decimals, percentages, and geometry skills. I’m a big fan of spiral review, making sure that students hold onto the math skills they’ve learned in the past, because math skills are all connected!
