About Me
I received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Art History from the University of California Los Angeles in 2013, but I have always loved Math, tutoring classmates and friends in Math throughout high school and college! I have worked as a private school or homeschool teacher and Math tutor for ten years. My students this year range from 1st graders to 10th graders! I have a passion for using creative approaches to make education fun and memorable. My goal is to create learning experiences that help each child to understand the concepts being taught. There are so many ways to get to the correct answer in Math!
About My Classes
Next year I will be offering a Math class for 6th graders following the Saxon Math 7/6 Curriculum. In this class, we will work on cementing important math skills that students will need moving forward into Prealgebra and Algebra. Topics that will be covered include an introduction to functions and coordinate graphing, integers, exponential expressions, order of operations, decimals, percentages, and geometry skills. I’m a big fan of spiral review, making sure that students hold onto the math skills they’ve learned in the past, because math skills are all connected!
Fee: 10-13 students $65 / month
I will also be offering a Math Tutoring class for 8th graders not taking Algebra with Mr. Kim, including Prealgebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2. In this class I will support students as they work through a variety of Math curricula at their own pace.
Fee: 2-6 students $72/month
